About 15 years ago she started to learn and master a fire enamel technique. Over the years, Asya had developed her own unique style and method of fire enamel miniature and jewelry design (based on her original technique). She also had continued her work in painting, book illustration, graphic design, as well as mosaic and other decorative techniques. Many of Ostrovsky's paintings, enamel pieces, and jewelry now belong to private collections based in Israel, Europe, USA, Russia, and some countries of the former Soviet Union. Asya Ostrovsky was born in 1959 in Almaty, capital city of Kazakhstan (former Soviet Union). After graduation with honors from Almaty Art College, she had earned a Master of Fine Arts from a prestigious National School of Art. Asya established herself as a successful book illustrator and a graphic designer (more then 30 books with her illustrations were published in Kazakhstan). She had also held several teaching positions at the Art College. Asya Ostrovsky was a participant and an Award Winner of the numerous national and international exhibitions, as well as art competitions. In 1992 she repatriated to Israel, and in1995 had joined the Union of Israeli Artists. |
